A broad range of opportunities are available for dentists, and for those with a background in other disciplines, who are interested in research in this developing field.

Research degrees can be undertaken at various levels:

Master of Philosophy (MPhil)

The Master of Philosophy is a research degree, conducted over a period of 2 years of full-time study or up to a maximum period of four years part-time study from the date of first enrolment. 

Each candidate undertakes an approved program of supervised research and advanced study for the prescribed period, and at the conclusion of that period each candidate must present for examination a thesis incorporating the findings of the research work.

Applicants for candidature are required to submit an outline of their proposed research project along with original transcripts of their complete academic record. Candidates for the degree are required to submit a thesis for examination.
